Technical Account Manager
About the role
SolStak is looking for a Technical Account Manager to be the trusted advisor for sovereign Defence and government clients. You will bridge business outcomes and deep engineering delivery — shaping roadmaps, resolving escalations and ensuring mission-critical programmes stay aligned with client priorities in accredited environments.
What you’ll do
- Own a portfolio of Defence and government accounts with clear relationship and revenue accountability
- Translate client mission needs into delivery plans with engineering, project and security teams
- Lead QBRs, executive briefings and technical account plans that drive measurable outcomes
- Coordinate pre-sales support, statements of work and handover into delivery squads
- Manage escalations, risk and satisfaction across cloud, data, platform and cyber workstreams
- Identify expansion, renewal and cross-sell opportunities grounded in client value
- Represent SolStak with integrity in classified and sensitive stakeholder forums
What we’re looking for
- Proven technical account management or client leadership in ICT services or systems integration
- Strong understanding of cloud, data, cyber or enterprise platform programmes
- Experience engaging Defence, government or other regulated-sector stakeholders
- Excellent communication — executive presence, technical credibility and clear written proposals
- Comfort navigating procurement, security and accreditation constraints in Australian government contexts
- Australian citizenship
- Minimum two years of proven experience in a relevant role
- Own GitLab instance and home lab environment (highly desirable)
- Existing Australian Government security clearance (highly desirable)
- Industry certifications (highly desirable)
What it feels like to work here
You will be the face of SolStak for clients who expect substance, not slideware. Technical Account Managers work directly with architects and delivery leads who implement the work — so you always have a credible line to the people solving problems. Expect autonomy, hybrid flexibility across VIC, NSW and ACT, and a culture that rewards trusted relationships and straight talk.
Why engineers join
- Own strategic accounts on sovereign Defence and government programmes with national impact
- Partner with senior engineers across cloud, data, cyber and integration — not a ticket-queue support model
- Influence roadmaps and outcomes where technical depth and trust matter
- Build a career at the intersection of client leadership and mission-critical ICT delivery
- Hybrid flexibility across VIC, NSW and ACT with a team that values accountability over bureaucracy
