Cloudera Engineer
About the role
SolStak is seeking an experienced Cloudera Engineer to design, deploy and operate enterprise data platforms for sovereign Defence and government programmes. You will work alongside security-cleared specialists to deliver accredited, high-availability data services.
What you’ll do
- Architect and implement Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters in secure environments
- Configure HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark and related ecosystem components
- Integrate data pipelines with upstream and downstream mission systems
- Monitor performance, capacity and security compliance of data platforms
- Document designs, runbooks and operational procedures for accredited operations
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience with Cloudera or comparable Hadoop distributions
- Strong Linux administration and automation skills (Ansible, shell, Python)
- Understanding of security controls in government or Defence contexts
- Clear communication and a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset
- Australian citizenship
- Minimum two years of proven experience in a relevant role
- Own GitLab instance and home lab environment (highly desirable)
- Existing Australian Government security clearance (highly desirable)
- Industry certifications (highly desirable)
